After three years I still get mail for the woman who lives five houses away on a regular basis even though the woman who delivers my mail and the people at the post office know her and where she lives. Although I get her mail at least once a week I NEVER get my packages and my mail is often wet because our mail carrier does not close the mail box. I have stood on my front porch and watched her drive up, then walked toward the road and waved. She waves back and drives off and I open my box to a little pink post card telling me she chose not to deliver a package. Her excuse when my husband went to the post office (again) was that she is afraid she can't back out of my driveway. 1. I do it every day, my husband does it in a 28 foot box truck and we never have a problem so I question her driving ability since that is her job. 2. She is already off the road at my mailbox and could easily just walk up my driveway which is her job 3. If I am walking towards her and she waves at me she can easily hand me the package right then. It is extremely difficult to get my packages from the post office since they are usually only open the hours my husband and I are at work. Does anyone else have this problem with the Burgaw NC post office?
We moved here from Louisiana in October of 2014. We kept getting mail for a person whose first name was the same as my boyfriend's and the last name began with the same letter but that is where the similarities stopped. We'd been here for over a year at the time. After months of putting the other guys mail back in the box it was just redeliverd. So I circled the name and put a note stating that this person did not live here. They stopped his mail but my boyfriend's stopped also. After my boyfriend ordered something onine and it didn't come we realized he hadn't gotten any mail in sometime. We went to the post office to let them know my boyfriend had never gotten his packages and we had gotten several before this problem started. They assured us it would be taken care of. After that the problems just got worse, the mail carrier crambed our mail into our box tearing a lot of it up including, VA medicines for another family member which was left partially hanging out of our locking box! I brought this to the attention of the carriers supervisor and she assured me she would take care of it. The very next day the carrier left a magazine hanging half way out of the box I took a picture of it. I called the supervisor she said to text her a copy of the picture, which I did! Then things got really bad, the carrier left a package hanging 3/4 of the way out of our box where anyone could have taken it. The supervisor then informed me she would take care of it. She did by telling me 3 days later our box was 10 inches too high! We checked the USPS regulations for box hight and found we were within the prescribed hight! We we informed that our mail would not be deliver to our box after May 31st. if the box was not lowered 10 inches. I returned to the post office to speak to the postmaster and she went to her office came out with a procedure page from their post office operations manual that said something different from what was posted on the USPS Web site! Nothing about our box hieght was a problem until our first complaint when the carrier did not read and see the differences in the spelling of the last names and now I feel we are being singled out and discriminated against for the carriers lack of due diligence in her/his job duties!!! Plus the carrier is now refusing to bring packages to our house when they don't fit in the box but have continued to bring our neighbors packages, clearly the carrier and the Burgaw Post Office is discriminating against us!! I have NEVER encountered any postal employees that have treated me thus when I've had a problem, I've always been treat respectfully and the problem was resolved. And it is the first time I've ever gone to the postmaster with any problem anywhere I've ever lived. Doesn't look good for Burgaw, North Carolina or the employees of the post office! If I could rate it a ZERO I would have! To say I'm upset is an understatement! Am looking into legal actions if we can't get this resolved!
My mail lady refuses to get out of her vehicle to bring a package to the door then writes me a "sorry we missed you". You wouldn't have missed me if you got out of the car!! This has happened many times to not only me but I've watched her honk the horn and if the neighbors didn't come out she left, never stepped foot out of the car to knock on the door. What happened to CARING about your job and not being LAZY?!?!?
I waited the whole day for a package I had been expecting. I went to the mailbox at 515 and waited for the mail currier. when I check to see if there were any updates it said they had tried to deliver my package at 528 even though I waited until 550 and saw no cars drive past let alone stop. This is pure laziness. They didn't even leave note.
On two separate occasions, instead of receiving packages that we ordered, we received a pink slip saying they attempted, but were unable to deliver. On both occasions, either myself or my boyfriend were present in the home the entire day. The second occasion, the packages in question were very important, and now I am not able to get them until Tuesday (my day off). It's currently Saturday. No one came to the door. There was absolutely no attempt to deliver the packages, and that is utterly unacceptable. What is the point of paying for shipment of a package, when they are never delivered? This lack of service is shameful. I will most definitely be making mention of this when I pick up my packages on Tuesday.
